This 3-day course includes in depth training on jobsite preparation, layout, understanding the science of wood, an analysis of solid and engineered flooring, practice and instruction for nail down and glue down installation methods of unfinished, factory finished, solid and engineered flooring, as well as learning a variety of floor repair techniques. This course also gives the attendee the opportunity to learn how to incorporate simple design elements into a floor.

 Intermediate Installation

·         Prerequisites; 1 year of installation experience OR attendance at the Basic Installation school or Principles of Wood Flooring, Plus completion of the NWFA University Installation safety course.

·          This 3-day course includes in depth training on jobsite preparation, layout, understanding the science of wood, an analysis of solid and engineered flooring, practice and instruction for nail down and glue down installation methods of unfinished, factory finished, solid and engineered flooring, as well as learning a variety of floor repair techniques. This course also gives the attendee the opportunity to learn how to incorporate simple design elements into a floor.

·         Receive three continuing certification units upon completion. Completion of this course qualifies the attendee for the Advanced Installation course. Completion of this course along with the Intermediate Sand & Finish course qualifies the attendee for the Master Craftsman course, and the Inspector school.

 

Installation Certification testing available for those that qualify - Friday, June 8, Bowling Green, Ohio

 

Installation Certification Testing

·         Prerequisites

o   Member of NWFA in good standing

o   Minimum of 3 years’ experience in wood flooring installation

o   Successful completion of NWFA Intermediate Installation or above level training

o   Completion of NWFA University courses in installation

·          hands-on testing in 5 areas:

o   Engineered wood floor glue-down over concrete subfloor

o   Solid wood nail-down on wood subfloor

o   Dry lay of patterned floor

o   Replace a board in an existing floor

o   Install floating floor over concrete slab
